Rainbow Motel

I paid $85 a few days ago and got a room that was much nicer than I expected. I'd stayed here once or twice before, and it wasn't nearly as clean or updated then. This time there was even a separate bedroom, and the bathroom and beds were clean. The hard flooring, probably vinyl, felt reassuringly easy to keep clean. The curtains and inside of the AC vents looked tidy too, which I hadn't expected. The bigger TV in the main room was fuzzy on every channel, but for a last-minute booking at that price, I was pleasantly surprised.

The property has lovely rose bushes along it, and it's centrally located. It's an older motel, but well kept and clean. Our smallish room had comfortable beds, sheets that stayed put, a decent shower head with hot water, and a reasonably sized fridge. After our road trip, those basics felt welcome since we'd found them lacking at similarly priced motels in other towns. We'd stay again.

Everyone was very friendly, and room #108 was clean and newly remodeled. After I left, I noticed the charge was $11 more than the amount quoted over the phone. There was no shampoo, either, and an odd, dirty chair was blocking the doors to the other bedroom and bathroom.

The bathroom was a big deal for me, and both the toilet and shower were clean. Our room was quiet and had plenty of extras: a fridge with freezer, microwave, TV, three bags of coffee (two make a pot), lots of sugar and creme, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and extra cups. I see the average is 3.5 stars, but that doesn't match my stay. I'll stay here whenever I come to Bend. Five stars, easily!
