The property itself is quite nice, and among the more modern, elegant-feeling buildings I've been in around Bend. But the beds they call queens measured 55” with my phone's LIDAR sensor, substantially narrower than a standard queen and uncomfortable for two. We had booked a single king, but were put in a double queen room instead. We sleep on a queen at home, so I thought we'd manage. They comp'd the $15/night parking as an apology, but three nights of that didn't make up for three nights in an uncomfortable bed. We paid the same rate, and putting tired travelers in those beds was a serious lapse in judgment, worth losing three stars. I don't know what to say. The manager replied suggesting we “next time just request a king bed and we will see what we can do”. We complained to the front desk each day and were told nothing could be done. I changed my review from 2 stars to 1.

The suites come with dishes and a few extras like salt and pepper shakers, and the room was clean. Staff were friendly. The hot breakfast was nice and kept stocked, though there was no meat. A little sausage or potatoes would've been welcome. The location is great for getting around Bend, but the hot tub wasn't working during our stay. Our child woke at 3am because the sofa bed hurt his back, though that's probably typical of those beds. The TV lets you sign into YouTube or Netflix, and HBO was included with no login.

The hearty breakfast, roomy suites, clean warm atmosphere, and spot near the Old Mill were all lovely, but the people at the desk made the stay special. Ametha has a creative, warm way of welcoming you. Check-in felt like a little celebration, and I left smiling. Andrew's suggestions for Bend trails, restaurants, and hidden spots were right on target. Following them helped me feel the town's pulse instead of sticking to tourist maps and traps. The staff I encountered were kind and attentive, and Ametha and Andrew made it memorable. Stay here and meet them. Beautiful people like this can make a place feel like a delight.

The property was clean and well maintained, and the staff were the best part. GM Todd and bartender Deb were especially friendly and accommodating during our stay. The front desk was kind and helpful too. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The complimentary breakfast was tasty, with a proper hot buffet: waffles, fruit, yogurt, milk, juices, eggs, oatmeal toppings, biscuits and gravy, plus what looked like a daily special. The double queen room with sofa bed had a full kitchenette stocked with dishes and pans, so we could make grilled cheese instead of cold sandwiches. It felt clean, relaxed, and upscale, with good heating and cooling and plenty of hot water. The downstairs coffee station also had hot chocolate and herbal tea, nice after a long drive. The bar had food too, but the chicken Ceasar salad at $18 was more than I wanted to pay. The mattresses weren't as comfortable as the other Marriott, the new one in Medford, though we slept well enough. At bedtime, the lighting felt too bright and cool, with no way to dim or warm it up, and the bedside reading light bulb was burnt out. The chlorine felt uncomfortably high on my eyes, maybe they should test it because it seemed above the acceptable level. Paying $15 for parking was annoying.
