Sugarloaf Mountain Motel

I’d rather sleep in my car than deal with the staff’s rudeness again. When I politely told them I wasn’t impressed by the tone used with me, management said I could leave, as if they didn’t care whether I stayed. That doesn’t feel welcoming. I would never come back or recommend this motel, and I don’t believe every positive review is from a real traveler. Management didn’t seem to care either. Do the owners care how guests are treated? Spend a little more and stay somewhere else.

For a work trip or days spent exploring, this place has the basics you need, and I’d recommend it for that. My room had a bed, shower, and TV with only a few channels working, which was what I expected from this kind of hotel. The front desk team was great on the phone and in person, even when I arrived after midnight.

We’ve been here four nights, and the rooms have been super clean. Sarah at the front desk is amazing, and breakfast is actually pretty good.

The location worked well for the places I was visiting, and for the price I’d probably come back. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beds weren’t comfortable, though, and since it’s an older building I had to figure out a trick to get the door open.
