Tetherow Resort

The setting at Tetherow is beautiful, but the service needs a complete overhaul. We’ll take our business elsewhere until things change. The hotel experience was “Mid” at best: our room was booked incorrectly, and staff seemed indifferent to our unhappiness. There was no apology or effort to fix it. At the ProShop, employees seemed to stay in the back talking about people instead of helping guests. There was no engagement or welcome for golfers. The head gal was about as friendly as a poke in the eye. For somewhere marketed as premium, the customer service was shockingly bad. We’ve also written reviews before, and they mysteriously disappear after 2-3 weeks. It’s hard not to wonder if negative feedback is being quietly removed instead of addressed. The place looks high-end, but the guest experience doesn’t match.

The rooms are spacious and reasonably priced, and the location is convenient for Bend city center. We were there in winter, so didn’t golf, but the pool and hot tub were very nice. The food was great, if the restaurant happened to answer the phone. That made it difficult to feed kids who didn’t want to go there. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t call it luxury, and the design already feels dated for such a new place.

We spent three nights at the resort hotel, and the pool and hot tubs were full of wild kids. In our room, the sheets and pillows were uncomfortable, the old TV barely had any channels, and we couldn’t airplay shows from our phone. The lamp’s charging port was broken, leaving just one working outlet. The lights also needed one of our two room keys to work, and there were only two bathrobes for our four guests. The walls were so thin that people below us played music until 4:30 a.m. There was no room service, and the resort restaurants wouldn’t deliver to the room. We didn’t get room cleaning or fresh towels on any of the three nights, and had to take out our own trash. There was no soaker tub, despite it being advertised. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The front desk went out of its way to shield management, and the customer service was horrible. We had a family issue that needed approval, so I finally left a voicemail for Kevin, the General Manager. He never responded, which felt unprofessional and inconsiderate. We were done with this place after one stay. After this review was posted, Kevin did get back to us. We’re enjoying our week here.
