Shorelight Inn

The staff made us feel like family and were so accommodating. The rooms and decor felt homey, too. The location is ideal, with lots of nice places within walking distance and a beautiful water view and trail right outside. I’m still staying here, but already know I want to return someday. If you’re deciding where to stay, pick this place.

Christina was warm and thoughtful from the moment we arrived. She welcomed us with a complimentary drink, arranged the early check-in we needed before an afternoon concert in Concord, and made us an omelette breakfast with healthy sides. My wife and I spent Sunday night in the Pink Palace room, upstairs on the southwest corner with a balcony. The room was comfortable and full of character, with fantastic views. Shorelight is right by the waterfront footpath and close to the charming downtown businesses. Parking was easy, and the price felt fair. We’ll stay here again.

The room decor mixes different periods, which gave the place a charm I don’t find in many chain hotels. Our suite was clean and comfortable, with a separate little sitting space, sleeping area, and small bathroom with a shower. The chairs were cozy, and the bed was just the right balance of firm and soft for a good night’s sleep. The room also had a mini fridge and a Keurig, though the machine took a little time to heat up. Better coffee was available downstairs in the breakfast room, and there were complimentary drinks near check-in. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely family-run B&B. There are stairs to the check-in area and between floors. Our balcony looked over the bay, and there’s a nice patio on the first floor, plus a walking trail along the bay just steps from the entrance. Shops are also within walking distance, though we had other places to be and didn’t get to visit them.

I grew up in Benicia, and staying here brought back that feeling of being at home. Christina is the best, and my wife Isabel loves the place too. We’re planning to come back for a Christmas getaway. See you then, Christina. We love you!
