We arrived to find we’d been put in a room with two queen beds and no refrigerator, even though we’d booked a King Suite with a refrigerator more than a month earlier. No one told us about the change. At the desk, we learned the hotel had overbooked for a hockey team and downgraded our room. There’d been no call or advance notice, and no apology or refund for the price difference. The team ran shouting through the halls with no visible supervision, and management did nothing about the noise after we complained. A terrible management experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

There weren’t any trash cans in the room or bathroom. I also had a hard time sleeping because of a loud noise that kept happening about once a minute, along with a strong smell like insecticide throughout the hotel. Around 9:45 pm, the front desk said they’d contact the bus driver about the noise. At 12:05 am, the desk said they didn’t know about the problem. One unpleasant night.

The staff were very pleasant, but the room needs updating. It was a very small king room, most of the furniture didn’t match, and there were crumbs on the floor from previous guests. The air conditioner was loud and switched itself off in the middle of the night. The laundry room was out of service. Not the usual Hampton Inn stay.

There are a few stores and restaurants nearby, and the location is good. The room was clean enough, though I did find a few hairs in the bathtub. Breakfast was simple.

The hotel is older, but the hospitality more than made up for that. Customer service was the best part, and the location is handy for the college and other local places.
