Inn at Fox Chase

The room was really nice, and check-in was simple. Everyone we met was friendly, and breakfast had a good mix of options. Parx Casino is close enough to walk to when the weather’s decent, though the hotel also offers rides there and back. Construction had one elevator out of service, so the remaining one got quite busy.

The free breakfast was amazing, and our room was clean and nicely equipped. The staff were very courteous and helpful. There was construction going on inside, but it didn’t take away from our stay. I can’t give a full five stars since we only spent one night and didn’t get to try everything the hotel offers.

I only found out my reservation had been cancelled when I checked the app. It had still been there two days earlier. I’d booked directly with the hotel more than a month and a half ahead for Thursday 3/20, and when I called, they said they were closed for construction. Nobody called or emailed me. If I hadn’t checked myself, we’d have arrived at an empty hotel. We were lucky to get a room at the nearby Sleep Inn. This was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable, and after this experience I’ll never stay there. Very disappointing.

I was called stupid by the front desk and told nobody would help with my complaint. The staff were rude and disrespectful, and the GM, Melissa Ward, was just as bad. When I explained what happened, she brushed me off, said her staff were right, and didn’t even listen. I felt like an inconvenience. They kept my security deposit, claiming we had smoked in the room, which we absolutely did not. I’ve heard this hotel does this often. The people working there and running the place were dishonest, and they refuse to hear customers out while taking money at will. I would never recommend it. Unbelievable.
