Motel 6 Berea, KY

For one night, it covered what I needed at a reasonable price: easy check-in, friendly service, a clean room, hot water, towels, and a nice bed.

Most of the stay was good. When we first entered, the room smelled a little smoky. We don’t smoke, so I told the office about it to avoid being charged for smoking in the room. The bathroom ceiling also had mold, which I reported the next morning.

The room was clean and pretty nice, and our cats could come out of their carriers and eat. The front desk person was kind and helpful, and made an exception for our four cats even though we were two over the limit. We got the rest we needed to finish the drive, and the staff were very understanding that we just needed to sleep. My husband and I were moving from Georgia to Michigan and arrived completely exhausted after the drive and other circumstances. We had our whole life in a Uhaul, and hours earlier I’d been through a rollover accident that totaled our car. The staff had no idea what we’d gone through before we arrived, but they treated us with compassion. We were at a really low point, and the people here cared. That’s worth five stars.

The room was dirty and infested with roaches. I didn’t expect it to be perfectly clean, but I also didn’t expect to be charged $72, non-refundable, for roach city.
