Super 8 Beresford

The room had stains on the comforter, and breakfast was pretty bad. The waffle batter was the runniest I’ve ever seen, so the waffle iron didn’t cook it properly. I threw mine out because the texture was off. I don’t know what damage the nonstick spray causes, but I’m sure some of those ingredients shouldn’t even be in shampoo, let alone food. There wasn’t any butter, just a soybean oil spread with palm oil. At least they can fit big trucks with trailers. I’d called a couple of days earlier to ask about parking a semi and was told no, but CLC booked me here for last night 48 hours later, and there was plenty of room.

The room was horrible and didn’t look cleaned. There was a yellow stain on the microwave, a tissue stuffed into the door’s peephole, and white and brown stains on the blankets. I also saw a red stain on the bathroom counter and two more on a sign on the door. The hallway light in the room kept flickering on and off by itself. When we returned after leaving, the door was open even though we’d shut it, so we put a drawer in front of it because we were afraid someone might come in. I felt watched. The location was okay, though the snow left only one way into the parking lot. The service itself wasn’t bad, and getting a room for one night while driving through a blizzard was nice. I don’t plan to come back.

The rooms are nice and clean, but this was our second stay and, between the two visits, some creep opened our room door three different times while my kids and I were asleep. He didn’t knock or say who he was, which was creepy and wrong. It was Room 205, under my husband’s name, Casey Condit. The person worked there and had a key to get in.

The back entrance worried me. It had a key card reader, but the door wasn’t locked and anyone could open it at any time. I saw no security cameras in that entryway either, so someone could potentially walk in without being seen. The bar door lock was also coming out of the wall, held by just one loose screw. Aside from those two security issues, the hotel was okay, with friendly staff and a room that was clean enough. It’s a small town Super 8, so nothing fancy, about what you’d expect.
