Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley

We had a really nice stay here with our family of four. The room was spacious, and the little kitchen, fridge, and microwave came in handy. We were in Berkley to tour the campus, so the location worked well. Check-in staff were great, and the view from the Study Hall roof top restaurant was lovely. The serving staff there were great too. Breakfast was one of the better free ones I've had, with lots to choose from, including fresh fruit, proteins, drinks, and cereal. There was plenty of room in the big dining area, so finding a table wasn't an issue. The breakfast staff were quick, friendly, and efficient. Very pleased, 10/10, would recommend.

The breakfast spread was fantastic, with lots of choices and constant refills. I was there at different times over five or six days and never saw a pan run low. The whole crew was so helpful, and I wanted to thank RACHANA, PHOUNG, MARIA, CAROLE, and TERESA by name. REGINA, their team leader, handled a guest's pancake mix spilling onto another guest with a smile. She calmly took care of both guests and the cleanup. She clearly knows how to look after guests and handle situations. I also had a small concern in my room, and the lovely engineer TOMASI came right away, fixed it, and politely asked what else could make my stay better. That question made me feel at ease as a traveler. From the moment I arrived, the staff were lovely. Valet team member BENJAMIN ran over to help with my two bags when I got out of my Uber, and ALBERT checked me in, showed me where everything was, and was equally kind. I also got to say hi to GABY during check-in. This hotel is beautiful, with lovely rooms, and it's in a great spot, just a few seconds' walk from the main train station and near lots of restaurants and shops. I was so happy with my stay. Every team member was phenomenal. Thanks to the senior leaders and GM for hiring such a wonderful team. I wouldn't change a thing.

After a stressful day of travel, this place suited me perfectly. I could walk everywhere from its central location, and my room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Having laundry rooms on a few floors helped me deal with my clothes during the trip. The noon checkout gave me a chance to rest before traveling again. I hope to stay here if I'm back in the Berkeley area.

The bar upstairs had terrific views and great service, and check-in was quick and friendly. I wasn't pleased with the overnight parking cost. The breakfast buffet was decent, with average food but plenty of choices. Business travelers had filled the seating, so we ate in the lobby. There are cheaper places around, but we're Marriott folks and we'll be back.
