Travelodge by Wyndham St. Louis

I’d give zero stars if I could. The water kept switching between cold and scalding with nothing in between, and the sink took forever to drain. When my daughter, who was my guest, brought up the water problem, the evening staff member Sharita gave her a hard time. She was the rudest, most disrespectful person I’ve dealt with at a front desk. Our food deliveries were made to wait downstairs, and the whole experience was awful. The owner Devin needs to get this hotel in shape. Brittany is a rockstar and deserves to work somewhere she’s appreciated for her excellent service. I’m a rewards member and will tell the corporate office how terribly we were treated.

The front desk person was sweet and funny. Our king bed was nice, and the bath, toilet, and shower curtain were clean. We were only there about six hours before an early flight, and it was literally across the street from our rental car service, right next to Rally’s, which we’d never tried before. The room wasn’t the worst, but it wasn’t the best. I don’t know if it’s a statewide thing, but lots of places we stayed on this trip had damaged walls, no TV channel guide, and upkeep that needed work. This room lost water pressure halfway through a shower too. I didn’t like having the sink outside the bathroom under bright lights. Thankfully, the fridge blocked the connecting door to the next room. The hallway seemed less promising than the room, and we only got one key, when usually you get two.

I just needed somewhere to sleep before my flight and didn’t have breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, and honestly the stay wasn’t bad. There was definitely a weed smell, though. The shower had hot water at night, but in the morning it was only warm.

I’m really disappointed. The sink was clogged, there was no hot water for a shower, the carpet was disgusting, and the bed’s headboard had about an inch of dust on it. This used to be a decent hotel at a nice price, but I’ll never stay here again.
