Berlin Heritage Inn

It's our first time staying here, even though we've visited Amish country many times. What a pleasant surprise, since I've often passed the hotel without thinking much about it. Cute place, comfy room and bed, plush towels, and a spacious bathroom. Staff were friendly, and there were decent breakfast choices in the morning. It's well located near the main sites, with easy access and parking. One of the few hotel stays where I actually slept well.

It was an okay stay and good value, with a very convenient location. The rooms seemed generally clean when we arrived, but the housekeeping policy was the most complicated and weird I've ever seen in hospitality. We had to fill out paper sheets each day and take them to the front desk to get basics like fresh towels or room cleaning. We were in the lower rooms, and noise from the plumbing upstairs was almost unbearable. Toilets flushing and water running above us were annoying, especially in the middle of the night. I ended up using earplugs so I could sleep.

I'm very disappointed and don't recommend this business. When I booked, one of the questions was, “do you want the annex?” I answered “no,” but now I'm sitting in the annex. There's no common room and no staff here. I'll have to go back to the main property, half a mile away, for breakfast. The annex should have a discounted rate.

A nice motel with very clean rooms and nice staff. Breakfast is included with the room. You can fix your own cereal, waffles, and so on.
