Motel 6 Bernalillo, NM

I checked in around 9pm after a road trip and went straight to sleep. In the morning, the faucet water was yellow-orange-brown, as the pictures show, and I found cockroaches throughout the room. I told the front desk and invited the manager to come see it. She said she would have refunded me if I’d told her the night before. The whole point of renting a room is to get a good night’s sleep and take a shower, but neither worked out. The owner was very rude.

I got stranded on the freeway and ended up spending 6 days here. The rates were great, it was quiet, clean, and safe, and the staff were amazing. They have both non-smoking and smoking rooms. The freeway was recently rerouted, so getting there is a little tricky, but GPS will bring you right to the door. The AC worked VERY WELL, but that was a problem since the controls didn’t function properly and you had to hold your mouth right to turn it off. The bathroom floor tiles were installed poorly and had a lot of cracks. That seems more like a contractor issue than the hotel’s fault. Maybe maintenance needs another team member or the current associate needs more training. There were no luggage carts 😐. I’m fairly sure I saw the guy in room 303 wheel his stuff up, so I bet HE kept one for himself. For my stay, Motel 6. Bernalillo NM gets five owls from me. 🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉 Blind Owl APPROVED.

It was nice and quiet, peaceful, with a comfy bed. The website showed a microwave in the room, but there wasn’t one. There was just a single microwave in the lobby, which was a bit of a burden to share with all the other guests.

I’m a fan of Motel 6, but this was my worst stay at one. I was there for 4 nights, and my room wasn’t serviced once, with no towels or anything. On the 3rd day I came back to find 1/2” of water in the room. The desk attendant gave me 3 bath mats and said I could clean it up myself. The last two mornings, there was no hot water for my shower, not even warm, just cold. Not recommended.
