The location is good, the beach is nearby, and the amenities are decent, but the policies made our stay frustrating. We booked the house for nine people and paid for that much space, yet when we ran out of toilet paper, they limited how much they would replenish. Someone first said they’d bring more right away. I texted again an hour later and heard they were working on it, then called after six or seven hours and got an explanation of the policy. We ended up going to CVS ourselves. We paid for three parking passes but received only two. When I called, they said the policy allowed just two and told me to buy another outside or park outside the Sea Colony property. For what we paid, I expected more customer-minded service. Going the extra mile would have made a difference. We’ve used Vacasa and now Vuestay over the last two years, and similar issues have made both experiences disappointing.

The beach is close and perfect, the pools are a blast, and there are activities and good restaurants nearby. The houses are beautiful, and renting bikes to get around is so much fun. I’ve spent 8/13 summers here, and there’s a reason I keep coming back. Must go!

The room was really nice, with a fantastic ocean view, and it’s still close to Bethany. But the booking and stay had some problems. VACASA never asked our ages when we booked, then at check-in we were told renters in Delaware must be 25. I’m not sure that’s true. We also had to pay a resort fee per person while most amenities were shut, including the pools and tennis courts, so that felt like wasted money. The kitchen dishes weren’t clean. To get the Wi-Fi password, you have to ask the TV with the remote’s voice button, but the TV said it needed an updated subscription to display it. There seemed to have been a chain lock on the door, now replaced with a hair tie.

The balcony had breathtaking views, and the place was very well kept. There’s covered parking, a tram to get around, a deli on site, and even a little Italian ice cart that goes up and down the beach. We had private access to a beautiful beach, plus indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and basketball courts, and a brand-new gym. It had everything we needed.

I’ve been coming to Sea Colony with my boyfriend’s family for the past three years, and it’s been lovely each time. There’s plenty nearby, and it’s easy to get out to the main road and head elsewhere. I always feel safe staying here. I recommend it.
