A housekeeping hiccup could have soured the visit, but the hotel resolved it quickly and completely to our satisfaction. The location worked perfectly for us, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the shower had great pressure. We’ll stay again.

I sat in the lobby for almost three hours because Christian wouldn’t follow simple directions, and no one apologized. The manager came out again and was shocked that Christian hadn’t done what he was told the first time. I’d already said I didn’t want Christian handling my check-in because of his nasty attitude, but the manager ignored me and let him do it anyway. My company paid for the stay, and I clearly told Christian I could email the authorization form. The manager had already said to email the paperwork and told me he’d instruct Christian to check it and put me in a room. Instead, Christian demanded a “handwritten” signed document as if it were the 1990s, then acted like I’d never spoken to the manager. When I called out the lie, he went quiet. After I sent the paperwork, he said he couldn’t find it, then looked at the authorization on my phone and said, “What?! What is this?! Nah that don’t mean anything.” He was rude, disrespectful, and completely out of line. Christian has a serious attitude problem and no business in customer service. His behavior was unprofessional and embarrassing for a hotel carrying the Hilton name. This place is unprofessional, and he’s the worst front desk employee I’ve dealt with. He should go back to training or find a job that doesn’t involve communicating with people. If you book here and see Christian at the desk, I’d walk out. Otherwise, you could be sleeping in the lobby, since he’s known for not booking people into rooms.

I had a three-night reservation for $376.95, and was told there’d also be a $100 security hold. This has turned into a headache that isn’t worth it. There are plenty of Bethesda hotels at higher and lower prices, so save your time and book elsewhere. My account shows two charges of $476.95 at HILTON GARDEN INN BETHESD BETHESDA MD, one on Jan 16 2026 and another on Jan 20 2026. When I called the hotel to sort it out on Tuesday, I was told the woman who caused the issue wasn’t working then. The person who charged me for the second amount on Monday wasn’t there either, so I got no good answer. I changed my rating to 3 after noticing a sharp wood splinter on the floor on the second day of my stay. Luckily, my daughter was visiting and had socks on, or it could have gone into her foot.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean, large, and very quiet, though a little dated. The blind covered the whole window when lowered, blocking the streetlights. Parking costs extra, which should be included for what the room costs. This is a downtown Bethesda hotel.
