The pool and hot tub weren’t in usable shape. The hot tub jets didn’t work, and although the desk said they’d look into it, nothing was fixed. Someone had vomited near the pool and it was left there, while the pool itself had boogers and debris in it. The showers in the pool area had been dismantled and shut off, so there was no way to rinse afterward. I also kept smelling pot in the first-floor hallways from a room there, including when I came in with my young children. Inside our room, the chemical cleaning odor gave me a headache after three hours. The kitchen and entry floor was sticky and filmed over, and the cabinet fronts had drips and food stains. There was just one spoon in the drawer. When I asked for more, the front desk told me to get them from the breakfast kitchen. The bathroom fan didn’t work, and the smell of urine and old feces was there every day. Its walls had stains and unexplained drips and runs. The window only opened four inches, which is common for safety, but the screen was torn and the frame bent. A new screen would cost $35. I’ve been coming to this location for years, but it’s gone way downhill. Does Marriot still own the building? We were traveling with children and expected a clean room. I’m not sure how much discomfort other people will accept, but this felt like a motel in Rahway NJ.
