Kenzie at the front desk was understanding and wonderful. My experience with the manager was very different. I was told I had to leave at 9:15 even though I’d come to pay, with my four-year-old son sick with pneumonia, flu, and a staph infection. She spoke to me in a way I never expected from management. I’d stayed a few nights to be closer to the hospital while my son was ill. Staff accused me of having a dog, though I did not, and the cameras showed we’d never had a pet. After inspecting the room, they apologized and said the $100 charge would be credited. It wasn’t, and I only got $7 back. Three days later, police came to our door because someone had checked us in without payment, which staff had allowed since we’d been there about a week. They’d given us until 8:30 pm to pay. I pulled up at 8:02 to make the payment, and five minutes later the police were knocking. We explained the deadline; the staff member acknowledged it but said the manager now wanted us to leave. We said we understood and asked whether we owed a bill. We were told no. When I later tried to check out, the manager wouldn’t let us or cancel the reservation, and said she’d report us to Hilton. I don’t understand why. She accused us of owing three nights, but staff had said that wasn’t true. We owe nothing. I felt targeted because I had small children who cried, as if they were the problem, while other children raced down the halls. The manager needs to learn how to speak to customers. She was a disgusting individual.
