The surprise Christmas decorations in our suite were the highlight of our vacation in Bethlehem. Staff had put a fully decorated tree with lights, ornaments, and a star in the room, presents glowing underneath, and decorations throughout. It felt as if they’d done all that just for us. The entrance, lobby, and service desk had also been decked out for Christmas when we arrived on December 18th. It was a wonderful start to our trip, and a nice way to honor the better-known Bethlehem in Palestine. The guest services agent handled payment and assigned our suite smoothly. Before bringing our luggage up, we looked around the public areas and could see how much pride the owner and maintenance staff take in keeping the hotel spotless and well cared for. My wife and I are retirees who travel around the US, and we like having a separate bedroom because we keep different sleep schedules. Home2 Suites is always our first choice for that reason. Places like this one, run by the Joshi Hotel Group with outstanding employees, keep us looking for Home2 Suites wherever we go. Kudos to everyone at this Home2 Suites in Bethlehem.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families with children or for groups. Our family arrived around 4pm with several other families traveling with our 11u baseball team. We’d booked weeks ahead and confirmed that the lobby could accommodate everyone so we could relax, eat dinner and have drinks after a full day of baseball. We were told that would be fine. Around 5 or 6, a noise complaint came in. We addressed it right away, kept the supervised kids in the lobby and pool area, and lowered the volume. At 7, staff said there had been “multiple” complaints from the same person about one room, where a mom and her 4yo daughter were staying. Soon afterward, police escorted everyone in that room out. We went to management immediately, but no one had tried to speak to the mom or to us first. The rest of the group had just been hanging out in the lobby. It’s hard to believe that a mom and her 4yo could have made enough noise at 7pm for police to be involved. Staff ended up kicking all of us out by 8pm after we started asking questions. The experience was stressful and the hotel didn’t feel welcoming or reasonable. There are other hotels nearby, including the one our group checked into down the road.

I’m on the road a lot for work, usually leaving home in NY on Monday and getting back Thursday evening or Friday. For the last year and a half, Home2Suites by Hilton Allentown has become my home away from home. Loraine, Shawnie, and the rest of the staff always make me feel welcome and add a personal touch to my stays. Most recently, the hotel was fully booked for a tournament, but Shawnie still found a way to fit me in at the last minute, in a beautiful, spacious room. That’s amazing customer service. It’s how you keep road warriors coming back. They elevate the service and set a high bar, and I wish every hotel I booked paid this much attention to detail.

The property stayed top notch, very clean, and in a convenient spot, even through a historic snowstorm. The Hilton team helped us all the way through it, with smiles and support from Kendra and Kate. Special thanks to Mr Mario for keeping everyone safe by clearing away snow hour after hour. Relentless!
