The Beverly Hilton

That 6 a.m. protest outside our window was loud and miserable. The bed, on the other hand, was extremely comfortable, and the rooms were great. We were also left truffles from a local chocolatier, but they weren’t wrapped or covered, and there was no note. We couldn’t tell how long they’d been sitting out or whether they were safe, so we didn’t eat them.

There’s construction going on right now, and the pool area is closed, so there is currently no swimming pool. Parking is valet only and costs a lot. I wish the hotel had told customers about these things.

We found it very convenient for getting around Beverly Hills, and the rooftop restaurant served excellent meals. The Hilton pool was closed, but using the Waldorf pool worked out perfectly. Even with construction at the property, everything felt well kept, quiet, and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our excellent stay, from check-in until we left. My wife and I would love to return.

The rooms are nice and the location is convenient, but the street noise made it impossible for me to enjoy a luxury stay. It seems that won’t change until construction is finished and the rooms are soundproofed. The listed pool amenity was closed while it was being built. Management sent lots of texts asking if we were happy, but didn’t respond when we asked what could be done about the noise. The front desk was just as dismissive, and the staff came across cold and soulless. One day I asked for bottled water and got it without a problem. The next day, another receptionist scolded me and refused, saying the bottles were only for welcoming guests. It felt like the team was so worn down by noise complaints that it had affected most of their customer service. Maybe you could have a great stay if you’re hearing impaired.
