Aquarius Inn

The bathroom was clean and the water was warm, and the front desk woman was friendly. Check-in was easy and parking was fine. But there was no Wi-Fi in the room, and when I brought that up, nobody offered a fix. The heating and AC were extremely loud, too. I asked about checking out late and was told no. I left on time, then sat in my car to send some emails. They made me leave the property, saying I was stealing Wi-Fi and taking up a parking space, even though I was the only customer there. If small-town hospitality or value matters to you, I'd pick another hotel. I added the receipt and text exchange in an update. The owner not remembering an incident from just a few days earlier suggests this may happen often. I lowered my rating because of it.

The room was roomy, and my kids liked the pool and hot tub. Having a mini fridge and microwave was handy. Those things might have earned a positive review, but the phone call after checkout changed that. They accused me of bringing our dogs and leaving hair all over the room and bed covers. I plan to watch my credit card, since we were told at check-in that we wouldn't pay the pet fee, and I'll dispute any extra charge. I'll also tell others what happened so they can be cautious about staying here. We picked this motel because it allowed pets, but our dogs stayed home with one of our teens, who didn't come on the trip. I told the front desk we didn't have the dogs. The desk clerk could have checked while we unloaded the car. Two days after we checked out, they called to say the cleaners had found dog hair. That accusation seemed ridiculous: the crew was cleaning the room next door while we packed, and surely would have seen two big dogs if we'd brought them. The cleaning man was sitting in the parking lot smoking, and with our room door open and the car doors open as we went back and forth, he would have seen us loading the dogs too. If they really found hair everywhere, it makes me wonder how well the rooms are cleaned between guests.

There was mold on the bathroom surfaces, both rooms smelled moldy, and neither AC worked. The beds were only a little better than the floor. On top of that, more than one staff member was very rude to me and my family, and it happened several times.

The front desk woman, who I assume was the owner, was kind and helpful when I arrived. That warm welcome made a good first impression, but the room had several problems. There wasn't much light, it smelled noticeably off, and the hot water was barely warm. Shampoo was there, though not having conditioner was a small annoyance. The heater took a long time to come on and was so loud it kept disturbing my sleep. Cold air also came in around the door because the sill didn't seal well. I was disappointed that the enclosed pool and hot tub were closed for winter, since I had been looking forward to using them. The staff's hospitality was good, but the room condition and unavailable facilities affected my stay enough that I can't recommend the hotel.
