Sunglow Hotel

For birdwatching, this hotel is a handy base. Bicknell Bottoms is close by, and Capitol Reef birdwatching areas are around a 30-minute drive, depending on where you're headed. There are local goods such as honey in the area, too, and the grocery store is about 10 minutes away by car. We had a great stay at Sun Glow Hotel in Bicknell. The owners were welcoming and clearly cared about their guests, parking was easy, and the place was quiet. Our room and bathroom were spotless and fresh, and the bed was comfortable after long days outside. We'd happily come back, especially for another birdwatching trip.

The food tasted fantastic, and I'd happily eat here again. Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and understanding about my allergies, and they arranged a meal just for me so I could eat safely. I really appreciate it when both servers and chefs take allergy safety seriously. The service was awesome.

We stopped at the SunGlow twice while crossing the country in August and visiting Capitol Reef. On the first visit, the BLT, fries, and pickle pie made us want to come back. We returned for a SunGlow Pie Sampler on the way through again. The food was yummy, but the service stood out even more. I don't remember the gentleman's name, but he was wonderfully friendly. We enjoyed both visits and would definitely stop again. Everyone needs some pickle pie in their life!

After a long day of hiking, we had a great meal and excellent service at their restaurant. The pies were fantastic, too. I never expected to try a pinto bean and pickle pie, but it was a fun twist on pie flavors. Highly recommend!
