Room 207 had two queen beds, an updated, spacious bathroom, and a large window with morning sun and a view of the lake completely iced over. The renovated room had a wilderness feel without mustiness or moisture, and the modern gas fireplace and lighting were great. An Adirondack chair patio was right outside our door. We were on the first floor of a two-story building, with outdoor stairwells and access, and plenty of parking. The rooms were quiet, and our neighbors were polite. The Frontier Resort at Big Bear was a great base for our stay two weeks ago. It was easy to get in and out, close to food, bars, skiing, tubing, gorgeous views, and more. The office staff were pleasant and efficient at check-in. We booked directly with them, and they explained how to get around the area and offered some good recommendations. We also saw work going on around the hot tub and passed well-maintained cabins, chalets, and other housing. The hot tub wasn’t working, but they told us that when we reserved.

The staff, especially at the front desk, were so kind and attentive. Everyone was welcoming and ready to help, which made the stay even nicer. Big Bear Frontier was spotless and well cared for, and the location was perfect for enjoying the area. Everything was as expected or better, and the surroundings were beautiful. I had a wonderful stay in January 2026 and would gladly return. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Big Bear.

The room was spacious and super clean, with a deep soaking tub, a fireplace, and wall art I liked. It was also nice being right by the lake in a newly refurbished building. I stayed one night in October, and the location was nice. The TV wasn’t working properly, but that didn’t bother me. My one complaint was not being able to adjust the thermostat to cool the room down.

The sunrise by the lake was lovely, and we even had a campfire on the little patio. For the lake access alone, I’d recommend a hotel room over a cabin. The room was cozy, clean, and nice, and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone we spoke with was polite, friendly, and welcoming. This was my first hotel stay in Big Bear. I was planning a birthday trip for my boyfriend and called the front office. The manager, Kelly, was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout, especially when things came up and I had to make changes to my reservation. She helped me pull off the surprise. I’m nervous when booking, since honest reviews can be hard to find, but I really do recommend this place. It’s affordable, clean, and welcoming, and I’ll be back. Thank you so much, Kelly, for all your help.

Our dog loved the place, and the front desk was very helpful. The room was immaculate, with high-end linens and mattresses and everything we needed for a pleasant visit. We had planned to stay two nights, but a family emergency meant we could only come for one. Having lived in Big Bear 15 years ago, we’d been looking forward to the visit, and it was wonderful. This was one of the best places we’ve stayed anywhere. We’re so glad we found it and will definitely return.
