Lakefront Cottage

This was our first stop on a trip across America, and Jade and I had such a good time. We arrived late, but the owners came by to talk with us and even offered to let us stay through the afternoon if we needed to. They were unusually kind and down to earth, and we had a laugh together. The house is ridiculously cool, the lake views are gorgeous, and it’s pet friendly. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in California.

I was searching for an affordable place by the lake and stumbled on this gem. It looks older, but it’s cared for and VERY CLEAN. I saw a woman cleaning and tending to the parking lot more than once, so it seemed like the property gets daily attention. The host was kind, quick to respond, and efficient. The location and view are great, and the price was very reasonable. Some negative reviews may come from people unfamiliar with cabin-style stays. I had a great visit and would recommend giving it a try.

This felt like a scam. Booking.com advertised the place as pet friendly, took our money, then immediately sent a message saying only dogs were allowed. They refused to refund us, saying the $80 cancellation fee was the same as the room cost. I called and was told they’d refund it, but they still didn’t. Then they denied the refund again.

Stay far away. They took the money, then sent an automatic message with different pet conditions from the listing. We asked for a refund less than 10 minutes after booking, but they refused. The listing was false and the conditions changed after payment.
