What started as a solo trip turned into a mini overnight visit with my mother, and the resort-like feel of the quaint cabin might make this a new favorite. The location worked especially well for me as a disabled person. Everything we wanted to visit was close, and I could get around with my cane without going far. Even on a busy, active street, I slept well and could get from place to place easily. My room was lovely, large, and had the amenities I needed, though it felt dated and dark. We had a skylight directly above the bed, and the daylight made napping impossible. I’d asked for a quiet room not on the ground floor, without realizing there are no elevators. The stairs were a lot for someone with limited mobility. The property has only two ADA rooms, and both were occupied. Parking was easy, and the hotel felt comfortable. They have pet-friendly rooms and a restaurant on site serving food all day.

The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were warm and cosy. Our heat was already on when we arrived, which felt great after a day skiing. It’s right on the village’s main street and next to the lake. Great location and cosy rooms, with good value for anyone looking for that.

A storm shut Hwy. 18 while my wife and son were staying here, so I couldn’t pick them up. The hotel let them remain six hours past checkout without charging anything. That kindness really made an already great stay. The staff were welcoming, the price was reasonable, and it’s pet friendly. Dozens of places to eat and things to do are just steps away in the heart of Big Bear. This is our new go-to hotel, and we’ll be back often.

The photos don’t match the hotel. It’s old and dirty, with sheets that look worn out from years of washing and walls that need both cleaning and fresh paint. For what it costs, that’s disappointing. I can’t recommend it, and we won’t return.

The tub worked fine, and getting into town from here is excellent. But at $283, I wouldn’t stay again. Maybe at $105. The rooms are worn and dated. Room 47 faces two busy, loud roads, and you can hear the traffic because it isn’t insulated. On the other side is Tropicali, a fantastic, cool restaurant with yummy food, but its music and shouted orders are loud too.
