We visited Big Bear for my birthday with my wife, two sisters, and in-laws, a week after a heavy snowstorm. Snow was still piled up everywhere. Our rented cabin was excellent, well equipped, and maintained, and the location was hard to beat, right beside the lifts. Skiing in Big Bear is fantastic.

It gets busy, but everything was clean and well organized, and the snowboard classes had great training. Tubing was easy to get to as well. On busy weekends, it’s best to buy tickets ahead of time and prepay for parking. There isn’t enough room or seating for large crowds to warm up and relax, and another lodge for eating and drinking would help.

The mountain views are beautiful, and the staff are friendly. Snow Summit in Big Bear has fun runs that work well for beginners as well as more experienced skiers. It’s a great ski resort.

I had a great time here with my family. It’s a huge, spacious place to ski, with music and quick stops for things like coffee or hot cocoa. I love it and would recommend it to everyone, whether you’re already a skier or just learning.

My wife and I went tubing and had a really good time. The staff in the store and on the hill were cheerful and helped make it a great experience. Tubing is sold in about 1.5-hour blocks. They also offer a military discount for skiing and snowboarding. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to others.
