At 8:00 PM our room still wasn’t ready after a staff meltdown, and the place was so disorganized and badly managed that they wouldn’t let us in. The manager told us, “I’m off for the day, figure it out,” leaving my family and me outside in the dark and cold. I’ve stayed in shady hotels and cabins before, but at least I could get into a room. One star feels generous, and I’d give fewer if I could. Save yourself time and money and book somewhere else.

We paid $501.33 and had no heat or working plumbing on our first night, Wednesday. On Thanksgiving morning, maintenance came to deal with the problems and flooded the bathroom and bedroom. All our belongings got wet, including shoes, suitcases, blankets, and clothes. They moved us from cabin #3 to cabin #6. Maintenance set up new bunk beds while we were still in the room, and it took over two hours. When everything was finally supposed to be done under the “agreed accommodations,” I realized at 2:50 pm there was no running hot water. I contacted the office six times. After checkout I asked for a full refund, but wasn’t even allowed to speak. Our concerns weren’t heard. We were yelled over and talked over. I do want to thank maintenance for trying, but the problems were beyond their control.
We packed up and left at 3 in the morning, even though we don’t live up here. I wasn’t going to let my family stay another minute. That’s how uncomfortable and fed up I was. I’d rather drive in the middle of the night than sleep there. The room was tiny, barely enough space to walk, and smelled disgusting as soon as we entered. It looked nothing like the online photos. I paid good money and found a dirty, outdated, completely unacceptable place. Getting help by phone was pointless. No one listened or seemed to care, and we were talked over like we were the problem. If you expect to reach someone who knows what they’re doing, think again. It’s cramped, misleading, dirty, and poorly run, and nowhere near worth the money. Other reviews make it seem like this isn’t a one-time problem. The property should be embarrassed. Don’t stay here.
We had a wonderful few days at the charming two-bedroom cabin at three Pines. It was very clean and nicely decorated, near the water and only a short drive from the village. Well worth the stay.
The furniture and walls both looked neglected and outdated, as if they hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in years. The place I walked into was absolutely filthy and completely unacceptable. The room photos online are misleading and don’t show the actual condition of the property. I’m attaching photos of what it really looks like, and strongly urge the owners to take a hard look at how poorly the place is managed.
