I enjoyed parts of my stay, and the place was cheap, cute, homey, and cleaner than it used to be according to what I read in the reviews. Still, I don’t think I’d come back. Lodging is all over town, and there are cheaper options that give you more for your money. The rates seemed inconsistent: the first night was $120, while each of the other two was about $50. That felt more reasonable for what we got. If you charge a $60 cleaning fee, everything should be clean. I pulled out a kitchen item covered in mouse droppings. The sheets didn’t look changed, the jacuzzi tub had dirt in it, and four provided dishes were caked with moldy food. I saw the housekeeper leave clean sheets folded in a basket outside, but never saw her return for them, so I don’t know how long they sat there. The owners seem to think a cheaper place doesn’t need to meet basic standards, which is ridiculous. I expected some things might be broken, but the oven didn’t work, only the burners did. We started making half a meal before discovering that, so people should be told if something isn’t available or working. There were no curtains in the kitchen. While bathing in the tub in the living room, I realized anyone could see through the kitchen windows while I was getting out or changing. That felt like a serious invasion of privacy, especially with a neighbor who came outside to stare whenever we were there. I liked parts of the stay and knew it was cheap, but I wouldn’t spend another dollar here.

We stayed for the weekend, and the place was tidy and so clean. It felt homey, with a lovely kitchen. I’d stay again soon.

We didn’t stay even one night, but still lost our money because there was nothing we could do about the near-impossible refund policy. The room didn’t match its booking description, and amenities were unavailable without being disclosed during the booking. You have to rely on pictures, then arrive and discover how poor the place is, when it’s already too late to get a refund. Don’t waste your time or money here. Other places in the same price range are a thousand times better.

The owner’s response after I emailed about the cabin was that it was an affordable stay at $103 a night and that I could get a refund if I checked out before 6pm so they could rent it again. We did leave, found somewhere else, and got out of there. A kind couple next door tried to mediate and had children with them, but they were dealing with similar problems. Did Adrian care? You already know. The listing photos don’t match what’s there. The kitchen had no towels, and the bathroom had just one bath towel and one hand towel. Most of the cookware was dirty, including the only fork I picked up, though the microwave, stove, and fridge were very clean. There were stains on the curtains. The advertised outdoor propane grill wasn’t there, just a dirty charcoal grill. The green bushes shown out front were gone, and the picnic table was there but the wood was dry rotting, so sit at your own risk. We were lucky not to have children with us. The wire between the thermostat and wall heater was exposed, with about six inches low enough for a two year old to reach and another six inches exposed higher up.

We didn’t even stay the night we’d booked. Cabin #7 looks appealing from outside, but inside it felt dingy and unsanitary. The shower area was awful, the towels were stained, and there was toothpaste spit all around the vanity. Honestly, I’d skip it.
