The internet was better than at any hotel I’ve used in recent years, and the food was pretty good. If your company sets up an account, it can choose suitable meal plans for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They go beyond the usual hotel experience. Solid 10/10, I’d stay again.

The remodeled gym and updated dining area were both really nice, with plenty of food choices each day. Staff were friendly and personable, the rooms were clean, and the property was well cared for. Guest laundry worked great, too. It’s conveniently placed for easy access to I-20, and we had a great stay.

There are problems all across the camp. Room cleaning is inconsistent, and while most camps get cleaned twice a week, here you’re lucky to get it once. I reported issues through the QR code and directly to the maintenance supervisor, but nothing was fixed. One stay had cockroaches in the room; another had no fire alarms. Some bathrooms can’t be closed off because of the way the beds are positioned. The internet is terrible and unreliable. Food choices are very limited, and if you want dinner leftovers for lunch instead of a premade sandwich, they say no. There often isn’t enough food ready despite the same meal times every day, and sometimes basics like cups and lids are missing. To-go food is badly packed, with two plates wrapped in plastic or just put in a bag. They keep bringing in new management, but the camps remain short-staffed to save money, and basic services keep getting cut back. The managers are polite, but asking for feedback in front of the whole lunchroom, cooks included, doesn’t help. A comment box would get more honest responses. The two camps are separated by a busy road. The one without food service should at least have a small kitchen with water and basics, so people don’t have to cross just for a drink or snack. The scanner sits right in front of the only door, causing lines and even people being hit by the door at busy times. And when the camp loses power, there’s no backup generator like other camps have.

Cockroaches were all over the floors and walls, and the rooms were never clean. I’ve stayed at another CHH, but this one has given me a lot of problems. They also checked me out without me asking, and nobody would help sort it out. I think the general manager’s name was Antonio. When I explained what happened, he ignored me and didn’t listen. Only when I asked his name because I wanted to complain did he ask for mine and my room number, details he hadn’t bothered to get while ignoring me.

I stayed on steak day, and that meal was better than anything I’ve had at other inclusive housing in West Texas and New Mexico. The staff were professional, dependable, and quick to help. The place is spotless and well maintained, with everything working and clearly looked after. CHH looks like it used to be a motel, but my first impression didn’t last. It’s a top choice for workforce or temporary housing if you want clean rooms, good service, and solid meals. I can’t think of a better spot in the region.
