La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Big Spring

After driving 15 hours, we got here around midnight and could head straight to bed. We’re on a 36-hour drive to California, so it was great to find a clean, spacious room with a large bathroom. The overnight employees were very sweet, and the woman working in the morning was too. Breakfast was included, so we could get back on the road for the next 15 hours.

The wind howled through the poorly sealed windows all night, with gusts over 20 mph, and I couldn't sleep. Both TVs in the room also stopped working. Nikesh had to come up twice, and after I texted to complain, it took him an hour to arrive the first time. The potty areas had sticker burrs, so I had to load my dog into the car and take him somewhere else. At check-in, my wife and I had to sign around six pages of warranties and disclaimers, with more than a dozen initials, which took over 10 minutes. I had booked by phone with Nikesh for myself, my wife, and our dog, and he'd quoted a rate that included the dog. After checkout and receiving my final bill, another $25 appeared on my credit card a few days later. Nikesh denied that the original price included the dog. I will never stay here again.

The room was a good size and the shower had hot water. I was on the top floor and thought I heard someone on the roof, so I told the front desk. We decided maybe Santa had forgotten something up there and come back for it. 😳

The pet fee was low, and they even had dog treats, which was a nice touch. We also liked the location near the highway and places to eat. Our room was very clean, and breakfast had a mix of hot dishes and continental options. We enjoyed our stay and will use this hotel again when stopping in New Mexico.
