Quality Inn & Suites Big Stone Gap

Loved the lobby and its decor, and the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with good water pressure. The fridge and microwave are always a nice perk. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great. The breakfast area is a bit small, though we got there before the rush. The pool was clean. I did wish it were a little warmer, but that's just my personal preference. I'd recommend this place and stay again.

The room was wonderful, and having a pool was a really nice bonus. Everyone on staff was helpful and super kind. After swimming with my son, we could grab a late-night burger at the Huddle House right next to the hotel. Honestly, it's one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels I've stayed at, and I'll stay here again when I'm back in the area.

That holiday lobby was such a treat. Outside it was cold, gray, and windy, but stepping into the fireplace's warm glow and the cozy mountain Christmas decorations felt special. I told my husband I wanted to put on pajamas, grab a book, and sit by the fire for hours. The lobby was modest, but I'd never seen one decorated so charmingly for the holidays. Kudos to the "elves" who made it happen. After a long drive, I was cold and achy, so seeing carafes of coffee on the hospitality table felt like a little welcome-home gesture. Sadly, the coffee I poured was stone-cold and probably hours old. It was late, and I understand no one wants to keep making coffee all night or waste it after traffic dies down. Still, please take the carafes off the table when the coffee is old. For a java addict like me, finding a cup that's no good is crushing. Making coffee in the room is easy enough, but being ambushed at the coffee bar took the shine off that warm, inviting arrival when I was tired and cold. Otherwise, we had a great visit. The front desk service was great, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the bed was super-comfortable. Their pillows are superior, too. I slept like a rock. This was our second visit this year, and it'll likely be our go-to when we're passing through on the way to Asheville, NC.

Of all the places I've stayed in the Choice Hotels system, this is the best Quality Inn. The facility was immaculate, and my room was as nice as it gets. Rhonda at the front desk was personable and helpful. Give her a raise!
