The room was worn but clean enough, and the bed was fine. The bathroom worked well, too. I got my motorcycle gear drying with my usual furniture-and-wall-unit setup, then showered and warmed up, only to find the TV didn't work. I tried everything I could. The very nice desk man said he already knew and had forgotten to mention it, but I could move rooms. I was on a ten-day cross-country ride and had no choice but to stop after more than double the price of any other hotel I'd used since North Carolina. In late June, I couldn't ride another mile in 35-degree rain. At about $65, this place would have felt right. It wasn't quite the shabbiest place I'd seen, but close. There were only a few guests, so this is probably the fallback when you're desperate and the other motel is full.

Whoever cleaned the room did a decent job, but the place smelled strongly of urine. The beds felt like trampolines, and nearly $200 was already a lot before the ridiculous $50 pet deposit. I wouldn't recommend it and would never stay again. That felt like highway robbery.

It feels affordable and almost like home, with a fantastic sunset view. This is a simple, cozy place run by a charming family, and I felt safe and welcome. Nothing fancy, just the kind of thoughtful way of doing things I like on a business trip or vacation. The prices are reasonable.

It's a small, newer motel run and owned by a local family, and it fits its small-town setting. For what it costs, though, I expected an elevator, more rooms for guests with disabilities, a full breakfast, and better soundproofing between rooms. At breakfast, workers watched me eat and joked that I was eating them "out of house and home." They didn't give me a discount, so I don't think they should complain about that. There are No Smoking signs everywhere, but the daytime worker smoked just outside the main entrance and tossed the butts into a bucket around the corner. The whole area smelled of smoke. After walking through it several times to load my vehicle, I smelled like cigarettes too, even though I don't smoke and had just showered.

The hotel is a little dated, though that didn't take away from my stay. It's a quaint little place, I believe family owned, and not far off the main highway. Pets were welcome while I was there, and even with the pet fee it cost less than the other hotels in town. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming. I'd stay again if I were passing through.
