SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Billings

We had cold showers during our four-night stay for State Wrestling. This older hotel couldn’t provide enough hot water while teams of student athletes were staying there. After the second night, we tried to cancel the last night, giving 24 hours’ notice. We were told we’d still have to pay, even though the kids couldn’t get a proper shower after wrestling. We knew we had to stay the third night. The kids are tough and a cold shower isn’t the worst thing, but after a full day of sports, they needed a decent shower. The hotel isn’t too far from the Metra. This is a facility problem, not a staffing problem. The staff were professional and did their best to make things comfortable. Breakfast staff did a good job getting all the teams fed and moving, housekeeping tidied the rooms and brought fresh towels when we asked, and the front desk staff were friendly and respectful even with guests upset about the cold showers.

The room was a good size for what we needed, with two queen beds for our two-night stay. It was clean, comfortable, and very quiet, though there wasn’t much extra space. The pool was nice and the humidity was well controlled. Breakfast was tasty, with a small hot section, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I know where I’ll stay next time I’m in the area. Hope to be back soon.

Once I got inside, the lobby was surprisingly calm, clean, and nice. The young woman at the desk was friendly and upgraded me to a suite, making me feel welcome instead of like a nuisance. The whole hotel was immaculate, the room spotless, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was solid, with real bacon instead of that thin, see-through stuff that feels 3D-printed. Staff were cheerful the next morning too, and nobody looked like they were counting the minutes until they could leave. I had a great motorcycle conversation with Mike. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Billings, with zero complaints. Getting there had me doubting things. I had to put my truck in four-wheel drive to get down the street, which looked more like something the city had forgotten to apologize for than a road.

We love staying here, and this was the fourth time my family and I have been back. Check-in was great, and the front desk staff are always helpful and kind. This time, though, there was candy on the floor left by the previous guests and a lot of dead flies on the windowsill. The place is perfect for us, but housekeeping could pay closer attention to the details.
