The food and beverage team were the bright spot. They were awesome, and the coffee was fantastic. The location also worked well, with easy access to the beach and casinos within walking distance. But when I entered the room, it smelled of ammonia. I told the front desk, and they said housekeeping could spray freshener, but not until the next day. There was also a desk chair sitting in the bathroom, and it looked like the toilet hadn't been flushed. The front desk staff were efficient, though not especially welcoming. I was disappointed with this Hilton property.

It was an easy checkout, and getting across the street to the Beau Rivage is a short walk. We were checked in quickly by a friendly young man. The room was nice, but it didn't have a refrigerator, which apparently is the case for rooms with a Gulf view. Everyone working there was friendly, helpful, and eager to please. I'd definitely stay again.

We were told the room would cost $137 at checkout, and I assumed that was because we're Hilton members. Once home, I checked the receipt and saw we'd been charged $247. For the room we got, even $69 a night would've felt like a lot. I tried contacting the front desk afterward, but nobody answers the phone or messages. On the night we stayed, I raised my concerns and was told they were booked up. My wife and I stayed on the 21st and had asked for a high floor with an ocean view. We planned to go in the water, but after arrival learned it was off limits because of high bacteria levels. It would've been good to know when we booked, so we could've found another hotel farther down the coast where swimming was possible. That's not even the main issue. The elevator carpet was torn and filthy, and our room carpet was badly stained and worn. The bathroom walls were dirty, the plumbing was coming loose, and there was a hole in the shower wall. The only chair was too soiled to sit on, the curtains stank when we tried to look through the dirty window, and the bed cover sheet was torn. For the price, I expected a small fridge, as the other Hilton hotels we stay at have them in their nice rooms. This place seriously sucks. We won't stay at a Hilton again. At the restaurant, we ordered fried shrimp, or so we thought. They took boiled shrimp cocktail, put a little batter on it, and lightly fried it. It tasted like slightly seasoned boiled shrimp cocktail. When the check came, they'd already added a 20% gratuity. There were only two of us, and I don't think they get to dictate the tip. I ended up giving her a tip anyway. I took pictures to back up everything in this review, though there's no way to post them here for some reason. Management can have them if they want, but judging by how the hotel looks, I doubt they care. The place reminded me of a flea bag hotel on the strip, if you know what I mean. I wouldn't expect to pay $250 a night for something like this.

For the price we paid, arriving to a damaged and filthy room was completely unacceptable. It was obvious the room hadn't been properly checked or cleaned, and the restroom was so dirty we didn't feel comfortable showering. My husband booked this for Mother's Day weekend, and we'd stayed here before without any problems, which made this even more upsetting. What should've been a relaxing weekend turned into a horrible, disappointing stay. I hope management takes room inspections and cleanliness more seriously.

Christopher at reception was so welcoming and got me a lovely room looking out over the water. There's Happy Hour every day from 5-7, and Hilton Gold or Diamond members get one free drink. The Hard Rock Cafe and Casino is a 13-minute walk away, with loads of memorabilia from famous musicians. And don't forget to ask reception for your chocolate chip and walnut cookie!
