La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Birmingham - Inverness

The pet deposit was $25 and wasn’t refunded, while the separate $100 deposit took about three days to show back up in our account. The room clearly hadn’t been cleaned: red hairs on the sheets though none of us have red hair, pee stains, and makeup on pillows left by the previous guest. There was wear from other pets, like a scratched mirror, but I expected some of that at a pet-friendly hotel. The beds were very noisy, and our infant daughter got dirt all over her feet crawling on the filthy floor. Breakfast ran out within 15 minutes because people took big portions, and they didn’t start making more until it was gone. Maybe they should make another batch as soon as they put the first one out. The gravy was good, at least. I don’t think we’ll be back.

I stay at La Quintas for most of my trips because the rates are usually affordable. They tend to have free breakfast, laundry and a well-stocked mini store, and most of the ones I’ve visited are updated. This one was updated too, with a clean room, comfortable bed and friendly staff. I also like the body wash and shampoo in the rooms. They’re good quality here, as they have been at most of my other stays.

Our first time staying at a Wyndham hotel was a great experience. We were in room #203. The room was clean and spacious, the coffee was great, and the breakfast was good. Everyone on staff was pleasant and friendly.

The walls were so thin we could hear everything, and the old beds creaked. We thought this would be fine because of the location near the Summit shopping mall, but it was beyond filthy, even for just one night. There was no one at the front desk when we needed help. The pictures of our gross, dirty room tell the story. Absolutely horrible stay at this Inverness Laquinta. Go to any other hotel.
