The noise at night made it impossible to sleep. Around 10:30, some guests started playing the piano upstairs and kept at it for about 45 minutes. The front desk wasn't dealing with it, so I finally got up and asked them to quiet down myself. The room was in rough shape for more than $200. There was drywall in the bathroom, apparently from a wet, moldy ceiling that had fallen in, and the shower curtain was dirty. The pillowcases had stains too. The cleanliness and upkeep were awful. I was also expecting some kind of spooky atmosphere from the hotel's haunted theme and history, but there was nothing at all that made the stay feel haunted. I get that this is part of the fun and history, but I hoped for at least a little atmosphere. The hotel needs to address basic cleaning and maintenance, especially the plumbing, damaged ceilings, and dirty shower curtains. It was gross and far from what I expected. I was excited to stay here, but it was a terrible experience, and I won't return to bisbee.

The staff I spoke with by phone and at the front desk were wonderful. The facility itself was a different story, and we're disputing the charges because we refused to stay and that goes against their cancellation policy. We're waiting for a response. I expected an old hotel, but at this price I still expect it to be clean and maintained. We have the right to feel comfortable. There's no guest parking, and the elevator doesn't work, so stairs may be a problem if you have mobility issues. There were reservation problems, though the staff sorted them out professionally. If I'd checked the confirmation email instead of assuming the receipt confirmed everything, we could have fixed that sooner. In the main lobby, a bathroom door handle was coming off, paper towels were on the floor under a soap dispenser that dripped, and one toilet had dried feces in the bowl. I used the cleaner of the two. Our assigned room was still being cleaned when we arrived, and the beds weren't made, so we could see the state of the mattresses. We were in the hallway, away from the room, when a young woman went into the bathroom. Two young women were carrying linens down the hall, and the sheets dragged along the dirty floor behind the one entering our room. The pool had leaves and debris in it. We didn't feel comfortable staying. While I waited in line to cancel, the customer ahead of me complained about standing water in his bathroom that he hadn't caused. The front desk said they'd make a note so he wouldn't be charged. His room was next to ours. They talked about noting it for the bill, not fixing the problem. We went home that evening and had to cancel our Mine Tour reservation for the next day. It was really disappointing. I'd overlooked several negative reviews because friends recommended the place, but I hope this constructive criticism leads to serious changes. I wouldn't recommend staying here at this time.

The restaurant and bar were closed, the elevator was broken, and parking was scarce. We also struggled to find the entrance. Inside, the carpet was dirty, the walls and fixtures looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and the furniture was worn out. The room was tiny, the bed sagged in the middle, a bulb was out, and the air conditioner showed a clean filter light. The bathroom floor hadn't been swept, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed, and the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. There weren't regular washcloths, just ones for makeup. It took a full five minutes to get hot water from the sink. Just nasty, and in serious need of updating. We booked online, then were asked to pay $40 more when we arrived. They finally honored our original price after a lot of persuasion, but the stay still wasn't worth what we paid. This was nothing like we expected, and a huge disappointment. It's the worst motel I've ever stayed in. I'd strongly recommend finding somewhere else in Bisbee.

A few years back, I stayed here and had a great time. It's right in Old Bisbee, with a haunted theme, though I slept better that night than I can remember sleeping in a long time. I liked the book where guests can write down ghost sightings, and there's a book about the subject too. The rooms and service were great, and I don't recall anything going wrong. It was pretty much what you'd expect.

Star at the front desk was so kind and went out of her way to help us. We were really grateful. The staff were lovely about bringing things up to our room, and the service was beyond excellent. The rooms have ripped wallpaper, though, and need new carpet. The restaurant was closed, and there's no elevator. It's a 1902 hotel, and it definitely feels its age. It needs a good renovation and an elevator. If you're older, disabled, or need elevator access, this isn't the place for you.
