Henry made us feel at home from the start, checking us in right on the porch. We got a fabulous little room with everything we needed for the night. He showed us two rooms, and if we were staying longer, we would've picked the one with all the comforts of home. There's also a Honeymoon suite with a fireplace, which was tempting. After we settled in, he brought us two delicious walnut chocolate chip cookies he'd made. In the morning we looked around the adorable gift shop. Don't miss it: there are local specimens, a breathtaking UV collection, and lots of other things Henry has picked out or made himself. He told us about the store and property's history, including the graveyard. The rates were reasonable, the location beautiful, access was easy, and the whole place had a wonderful vibe. Henry and his partner have a little booklet with useful information on food, outings, and activities for adults and kids. If you're going to Bisbee, book at the Gardens at Mile High Ranch and relax.

I came back from three nights feeling completely refreshed. The ranch is north of Bisbee's busy tourist district, so it's peaceful, but you can walk down to the activity whenever you want. The drive from Tucson is about an hour and a half. The people running the place, especially Rick and Henry, made it memorable and delightful. Make time to visit with them and stop by the mercantile. Order breakfast too. The waffles were the best Belgian waffles I've ever had, and the breakfast bowl was incredible. Wander around the ranch, say hello to the chickens, see the grave yard, and look for the secret staircase. We also recommend driving to the top of nearby juniper hill for sunset.

We finally made it to Mile High Ranch this week, more than two years after illness forced us to cancel our original trip. We've never had hosts anywhere as hospitable. Rick and Henry had several phone chats with me before we arrived, and Henry was full of suggestions for meals and sights during our stay. The three of us had plenty of room in unit #6, The Crazy Horse Suite, which has a lovely electric fireplace and a full kitchen. The mattress was one of the most comfortable I've slept on. As described, the property is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful, and we all felt safe as seniors. It's also very close to town. We missed out on Henry's breakfast, but bought some of his famous cookies, including a dozen to take home. The gift shop is lovely, and its prices seemed more reasonable than the shops in town. Thanks to Rick and Henry for a wonderful stay at a sensible price. We'll definitely return.

Our room was just right for us and our two dogs, clean and decorated with lots of care. Henry met us when we arrived with a huge, excellent chocolate chip cookie, showed us to the room, and gave us a tour. Both he and Rick were excellent hosts. The cabin area is charming, with herb and flower gardens, a pond, yard games, a big hammock, and an outdoor kitchen with lots of counter space for special occasions. The ranch is conveniently close to Bisbee's restaurants and shops. Bring a good book and relax in that hammock, or enjoy the cute fireplace on a cool evening. Cabin six has a mural that makes it look like you're walking down into a mine. Henry turned the original cabin into a gift shop, complete with trees and caves inside. You've got to see it. It was perfect for us and our furry friends.

We had a great time at Mile High Ranch. It was quiet, scenic, and easy to walk downtown from, with parking that was simple. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and our room was basic but comfortable. We liked the mercantile on site, the delicious breakfast available for purchase, and the gorgeous chickens.
