Motel 6 Bishop, CA

We spent three nights here before Christmas. The room was roomy and clean, but the bathroom didn't even have a bar of soap. We checked with both the front desk and the cleaning crew, and neither could help. Unbelievable for a place to stay during the Christmas season. That's why I gave it one star. I hope they do better in future.

The room was clean, and breakfast had a good variety. It's well located for a one-night stop on a long road trip. We came in winter, so we didn't use the outdoor pool, but it looked clean and nice. There are only bedside lights, no overhead lighting, and the coffee machine runs slowly. The wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were handy. The door sticks and makes a loud noise, and when the neighbors come and go it sounds like they're entering our room.

In the middle of the night, our neighbors were slamming doors and yelling. That capped off a pretty bad stay. The linens had long black hairs on them, the fridge was broken, the remote barely worked properly, and some room lights didn't work. There were no pet bags in the pet area, though luckily I brought my own. Checkout was a mess too. I'd asked about a late checkout, but the person who answered the motel phone with “hello” gave me the wrong checkout time and didn't know how late checkout worked. As I was leaving at the time I was told, I was told I'd received a text and a call, and that the manager was on the way to our room. The text was snarky and rude.

The mattresses were pretty beat up, though the room was clean enough. Bring earplugs if someone in the next room has the TV blaring, since there's no one at the front desk overnight. The WiFi didn't work either.
