I’m here for work this week, and after a late Sunday check-in they put me in a room that seemed about a third smaller than the others. It had a queen bed and a fridge half the size of the ones in other rooms. I was exhausted from the drive and didn’t know the layout yet, so I just stayed put that first night. The next day I asked to change rooms and even offered to pay extra for an upgrade, but they said they couldn’t help because housekeeping had left and they couldn’t rent out my room until the next day. There’s plenty of vacancy, so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t try to make a current customer happy, especially when I was willing to pay. I’m booked for the week and this is how they treat people. The room quality and service mean I won’t stay here again or tell anyone else to. I hope my company can arrange somewhere else so I don’t have to finish the week here. Seems like they’d rather lose money than keep customers happy.

The front desk was staffed around the clock, and there was hot coffee at 5am. My first stay here was quiet, which was nice since it’s about 200 yards off the highway, not on the main drag. The rooms were spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower.

The AC is in the bathroom, so we’ll probably be hot while trying to sleep and then freezing when we shower in the morning. We don’t do well with cold bathrooms and may skip the shower. We paid way more than Expedia quoted, and this room is really disappointing. I may ask for a credit to my card.

This felt like a pretty standard motel. The laundry carts and staff beside our room were very noisy, so it wasn’t restful. The curtains also let in the light outside at night. I need a dark room to sleep, and these curtains were terrible for that.

The heater and AC wall unit didn’t work very well in this older hotel, and the blankets were really thin. Since the heater was so close to the bed beside it, it didn’t warm the room. I had to get extra blankets and a small space heater. Maybe it wouldn’t be a problem in a room with only one bed. 🤷♀️
