I got in at 1:30 am on a business trip, and the front desk woman was kind and sincere. She was easily the best part of the stay. The room had a strange smell, a shower that dripped constantly, and a bathroom fan that screeched loudly when switched on. The TV was tiny, about the size of a large computer monitor. If you’re on the first floor, noise from the McDonald’s across the street carries through the night. The staff were great, but the hotel needs repairs and updates. I’d look elsewhere for a more comfortable stay.
I’m mostly reviewing the breakfast. It was passable, and better than many places in the same tier. There was oatmeal with toppings, juice, cereals, bread, and fruit tucked in the back corner, plus hard-boiled eggs and yogurt in the fridge. The eggs served hot seemed to come from a bag. There was a bacon label, but no bacon when I was there. I liked the apple-spice taste of the sausage rounds, maybe pork. Coffee and tea were set up separately in the lobby and available 24/7. Seating was adequate, though the area wasn’t large. The rooms aren’t great, and they’re dated and generally small. The tub-shower had mold and water stains, and water pooled at the drain. This is a Fairfield, on the lower end of Marriott, so I’m keeping my comments mostly to breakfast.
There’s a long walking trail nearby that connects to parks and the zoo, and restaurants are within walking distance too. The room was great and service excellent. The breakfast area needs updating. It looks good at first, but the chairs, drink machine, fridge, and serving dishes need replacing.
A nice place for a quick overnight stop. The hotel was clean, coffee was good, breakfast staff were attentive, and there were gluten-free breakfast options. The pool towels were large, though the pool itself ran cold. The website lists a hot tub among the amenities, but they don’t have one anymore.
The people here are wonderful, but the hotel feels very outdated and needs a major facelift. My pillows were flat and worn, and the shower was clogged with a rusty faucet. Manager, please contact corporate about these problems.
