La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bismarck

The room was spacious enough and had fairly new furnishings, but the bed sank in the middle and wasn't comfortable. Breakfast was good, the staff seemed helpful, and there was a pool. The price was right.

Nasty and absolutely horrible. The first room hadn't been cleaned, so I had to request another. The tub pump had burned out, the TV didn't work, and the shower head was broken. There was a big gap in the door and overflowing garbage outside. The elevator was out, and the pool and hot tub were closed. The toilet seat was falling off, too. It was very expensive, and I'll never stay at one again.

For $180 a night, I expected the shampoo and body wash to be filled, but both were empty. There were random holes in the furniture, and breakfast had no napkins. We chose this hotel mainly because the pictures showed a pool slide, but there was no sign that a slide had ever existed. I won't be back.

We stayed overnight on 10/30/2025. While we were at breakfast, someone went into our room and rummaged through our luggage, backpack, and briefcase. We'd left a Do not disturb sign on the door. Nothing seemed to be missing, but it was disturbing to know someone got in and went through our things. I called the front desk right away and was transferred to the manager. She got defensive about the staff and said there was no way they could have entered that early. I hadn't accused anyone, only reported that somebody had been in the room. She eventually said she'd call her regional manager, which was a relief. As we were leaving, she walked past while I was explaining it again to the receptionist. After I pressed, I got the regional manager's email address and contacted him yesterday morning. I was also told he'd reach out. A day later, no one had contacted me. The whole thing left us very uneasy, and it was handled ineptly.
