Holiday Inn Express Tulsa South Bixby by IHG

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The hotel was clean throughout and smelled really good, and every staff member was super friendly. Breakfast was tasty with plenty to choose from. I also liked having Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the room. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. At first, we thought the hot tub wasn't working, but someone had pressed the emergency stop button. We had to turn it to the left to get it going. Once we figured that out, it was phenomenal. Nothing bad to say. Thank you!

The stay wasn't pleasant. I was told on the phone I wouldn't be charged until check-in, but the charge went through as soon as I hung up. When I arrived after 3, the room wasn't ready: the beds were unmade, and blankets and pillows were piled up instead of being on them. The front desk person had to ask a manager what to do, then moved us to another room. They also charged me an undisclosed $50 fee for accidents and said it would be returned after checkout. Two days later, it still hadn't come back. The front desk staff were short with people and unhelpful, giving the impression they didn't care. Kids ran and screamed through the halls for an hour after 9, and the pool area was packed with a birthday party, with cake and drinks everywhere despite signs saying no food or drinks. Staff didn't seem to care what was happening. The back door wouldn't open from outside, so if you parked behind the hotel with a trailer, you had to walk around to the front every time.

Getting around was easy because the hotel is close to shops, a movie theatre, restaurants, and the highway. It made for a convenient, calm home base near everything. The room was spotless, and the hotel smelled fresh as soon as I walked in. I even lit a candle to make the space feel more like home. Everyone I met was warm and welcoming, which really helped me relax during my cozy staycation at Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast had two small disappointments: there was no waffle maker, and the pancake machine usually makes those rubbery pancakes that make you wonder why bother. I also noticed a faint, odd sulfur smell in the bathroom. Neither issue spoiled the stay, but both stood out. It was comfortable and friendly, and I'd happily return.

We had to come to town at the last minute and needed some special accommodations. Jennifer went above and beyond to help us get to our event dressed and on time. We really appreciated her kindness and understanding during our stay.
