The noise finally drove us out. The neighbors started arguing again at 12:47 am, and after I banged on the wall they yelled at us. We felt threatened and left by 6. Earlier, their screaming match around 3 pm had made the thin walls and doors obvious, and we even thought about calling the police. The manager was pleasant and let us check in early, which we appreciated, but we regretted booking as soon as we arrived. There was a car in the lot jacked up with a tire off and tools scattered around. Our room smelled strongly of cleaner covering an odor we couldn't identify. The bathroom tiles were peeling, with mold on the grout and window. The towels were the smallest and thinnest I've used, and barely dried me. We went out for dinner, came back, watched TV, and tried to sleep before the argument resumed. This place is a dump. I've stayed in some shady spots, but this one was the worst. Don't waste your time, money, or energy booking it.

The owners were so thoughtful that they switched on the heat before we arrived during a 12° Arctic blast. Our rooms were huge, updated, clean, fresh, and relaxing. It's a great pet-friendly hotel just off the interstate, and we'll definitely come back.

It was quiet and easy to get in and out, and the clean room worked fine for our travels. The hot water was only lukewarm in the morning, though. Otherwise, it was an okay place.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and we enjoyed our two nights at Acorn Motel. Our room was clean, cool, and cozy. It's a quiet, quaint place to stay in Black Mountain, and I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for that.

The motel was really quiet, even with seasonal farm workers and their families staying there that night. The other guests were nice, too. We loved having outside access, and it's pet friendly, with a good restaurant next door, more places to eat nearby, and a nice breakfast spot across the street. The room was spacious, with comfy beds and a clean bathroom. I especially liked the retro bathroom colors, the strong water pressure, and the proper tub instead of a molded plastic one. We loved staying here and plan to return. One suggestion: turn on the AC before guests arrive. It took forever for the room to cool down enough for us to fall asleep.
