Having time with our family and friends across the whole weekend was a huge part of what made our wedding special. We hosted a welcome party in the courtyard on Friday, took our time getting ready in the lovely suites Saturday, and had many guests stay one or two nights. The wedding weekend package suited us perfectly. Dianna, the venue coordinator, was a dream from start to finish. She answered every question in our many email threads and did her best to work with our requests. She and Mackenzie helped with the logistics, shared thoughtful ideas, supported us all weekend, and made us feel so cared for. I grew up in Blackstone and already felt connected to the property from before it became the gorgeous hotel and event space it is now. Still, I wasn’t sure a small-town venue could match the Richmond spots we’d toured. Then we saw the grand front steps, romantic courtyard, and magnificent tree the staff lovingly call Sir James, and we knew this was the place. The Inn at Blackstone brings historic charm together with modern elegance, and it felt absolutely magical. Choosing it for our wedding was one of our best decisions. We’re so grateful for the beautiful, heartfelt weekend we had there.

I’ve been staying here when I come back to my hometown of Blackstone about once a year. The former girls’ school, built in 1894, has been transformed, and I like seeing the lovely photos of the grounds on the walls. It’s quiet, comfortable, and clean. The lobby cooler has a good selection of food and drinks for a quick meal, and coffee is available there around the clock. I used the well-equipped fitness room and could do my usual workout. I didn’t try the pool or lounge areas, though they looked nice. Breakfast was pretty basic, with no oatmeal or non-pork meat. Turkey sausage or bacon would be good options. They also said there was no milk for cereal because it had passed its expiration date, which was strange. We recommend the Inn and would stay again.

The building was very clean and nice, and the staff were top tier. The breakfast was delicious, too. When my daughter’s wedding venue had been double booked, the manager at the Inn had nothing to do with the mix-up, but went above and beyond to help make the weekend special. They let my daughter and her bridal party get ready in the bridal suite and made her feel like a princess. We stayed on 10/3 & 10/4 for her wedding, and it was beyond perfect. We’ll always remember that kindness and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. 100 out of 10 starts ❤️

For $150, it didn’t disappoint, and I’d stay again. The smallest room we chose had everything we needed, with a comfy bed and pillows and all-white bedding. Breakfast was a classic continental spread, with hot and cold items, make-your-own waffles, juice, and coffee. The hotel looks beautiful and clean, with a modern industrial design. The pool was out of order, which was a bummer, but the gym and other amenities were very nice. I’d give the stay 8 out of 10.

I spent the time from just before Thanksgiving until just before Christmas at the Inn and really enjoyed my stay. Those fresh-baked cookies and scones were a lovely surprise. I’ll definitely come back for another stay.
