The renovation and new ownership seem to have improved the Golden Luck Motel’s appearance and changed how people view it. For years, though, it mainly served unhoused people and those in transitional housing, and the new owners don’t seem as welcoming to them. The motel is still on a blighted corner by an abandoned petrol station, with sketchy people hanging around. If I needed a place for one night while passing through, I might consider it now, but otherwise I wouldn’t.

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable with fresh linen. Staff brought extra towels promptly when I asked, and were accommodating when other needs came up. Ronnie, the manager, was personable and professional, and the staff made the place feel friendly and almost like family. The price was reasonable for what they offer.
2/10
The room was filthy, and the problems kept piling up: the sink was clogged, the king bed was two twins pushed together, and the pillows had no cases. There was no smoke detector, no closet or place to hang a jacket, and basically just a bed and toilet. It looked like a crack spot. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. They should be ashamed to offer this, and I'd tell anyone to stay far away.

They’re under new management, and the people were friendly during our stay. The place is small but roomy enough, and clean. I asked for a big refrigerator and they came through. The microwave is huge for no reason, though. The bed was comfy, and they made sure we had fresh linen.

Ronnie, the manager, is really nice and helpful. The room was clean and the water gets super hot. For someone on a budget, this is a good place for the price.
