Holiday Inn Express Blair by IHG

Breakfast was really good, and the bed was comfortable. The room was neat and clean. I also noticed the woman clearing the lobby tables stayed busy, keeping the food and coffee stocked as well.

After an eight-hour drive, we were exhausted, and Holiday express showed up as pet friendly in the hotel search, so we walked in and booked a room. Our small pug is trained and is also my support animal. I’m legally blind in my left eye and have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). About five minutes after paying, we saw the hotel doesn’t allow pets. We went back to the front desk and politely asked if I could bring him or get a refund since we’d only just paid. Coleen was cold and inconsiderate, telling us, “NO! YOU CANT GET YOUR PAYMENT BACK.” She refused when we asked again. I was shocked by how rude and inconsiderate people working in hospitality in this country could be, and wondered if this is how Americans treat guests now. Two other women were kind to us. I can’t remember their names, but I think one was Mindy, a tall, nice lady, and the other was the girl with glasses. The big woman named Coleen handled the situation poorly. We also found lancets on the floor in our room. I took a picture, but there was no way to upload it, so I guess housekeeping was poor too.

A very nice, new, and clean place. Checkout was easy, and the staff were very helpful. Five stars.

I spent the whole day in the meeting room and it worked perfectly for us. I didn’t get to stay in one of the hotel rooms, though.
