Four Corners Inn

The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was excellent. Breakfast was a good start to the day: hard-boiled eggs, whole wheat bread with butter, cereal, and bananas. Blanding has a few places to eat and one good grocery store. Monument Valley is 75 miles away, and the price was reasonable.

This place is absolutely disgusting. The floor had white stains, toothpicks, and food on it, and the smell was horrible. The sheets were dirty too. I watched TV until I got tired, then slept in my car.

The breakfast setup was pretty limited: no coffee maker in the room, and the small continental breakfast didn’t start until 7:30. There wasn’t even seating, since the breakfast area is part of the tiny office. The place felt like a basic 70ish property that hasn’t been updated beyond a small flat-screen TV. The furnishings were scratched, the bedding was very old, and the towels were skimpy. It was only marginally clean, with dirty carpet spots and a funky old smell when we came in. We ended up here over Memorial weekend because we were passing through and couldn’t find another place nearby that allowed dogs. Next time we’re traveling from our place in Arizona, we’ll plan better. We won’t stay here again. You get what you pay for.

I had a pleasant stay and really appreciated how kind the front desk staff were. When I wasn’t sure what to do because of things outside my control, they let me keep the room longer. There were a few areas that could’ve been cleaner, but overall I was grateful for the experience.
