The 4:00 bites and sips were a lovely chance to chat with other guests, and the staff were attentive. Breakfast was generous too, and a mimosa at 9am felt just right. Our two-night stay left me feeling rested and relaxed, exactly what I wanted from a vacation. The jacuzzi tub was wonderful. There’s a farm across the street that was a delight, with a camel, kangaroos, and lemurs! Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer.

We went for a two-night weekend stay at 1661 Resort beginning October 11 2025, but a hurricane shut down the ferries until Wednesday morning, so we ended up staying four nights. The extra nights were half price. We’d been in a separate building about a five-minute walk away, then moved to the main building for the last two nights. That room was spacious and beautiful, with a dream of a bathroom. The hotel owners and staff were gracious throughout. Even with the unexpected extra guests and no ferries bringing supplies, they still served the breakfast buffet and the delicious “wine and nibbles” at 4:00 every afternoon, at no extra charge. I highly recommend 1661 Resort to visitors of any age to Block Island.

Emily made our first stay here an especially good one. On this off-season Valentine’s Day trip she was handling the front desk, bar, and more by herself, and still took great care of us, our family who joined us for drinks, and the other guests. She checked us in, made sure we had what we needed, and later checked us out. I was impressed by how smoothly she managed it all. She’d also sent us a list of restaurants that were open when we called ahead, so we could book dinner. Our room, the Tosh, was spacious with a great view, and my 10yr old loved the pull-out bed so much she asked to stay longer. The evening cheese and wine were a nice touch. I’ve enjoyed brunch here before, and it’s great. I’m often on the island, and my friends stayed here in September and loved it. I asked Emily if she’d be around in Aug/Sept and told her I’d call to book. Looking forward to seeing her again. Rita was such a gem to my friends when they stayed in September too. They’re all very accommodating.

This is our third stay at a 1661 Resort property, and we keep coming away impressed by the warm, friendly staff and how well the places are kept. At Campbell Cottage, the two-bedroom layout is newly renovated and spacious, with an ocean view. It’s beside the 1661 garden, animal farm, and yoga studio, across from the 1661 Inn, and a short walk from town. The Inn’s champagne breakfast is delicious, with fresh vegetables from its own expansive garden. Owner Rita Draper is a wonderful hostess, and it’s clear she and her staff care about making each guest feel special. Cozy rooms, great food, and hospitality that exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return.

The view was beautiful, and everyone we met was friendly and lovely. We enjoyed the petting farm, breakfast, and cocktail hour during our few nights at the newly opened Eureka Hotel. It was so clean and pristine, which matters a lot to me. Highly recommend!
