Century Suites Hotel

The owner’s response to the situation was disappointing, and we won't be coming back. The room was dusty, smelled bad, and looked as if it hadn't been used or cleaned in a while. It was dated, with stained throw rugs and a TV that didn't work. We slept there with our dogs for only a few hours, had coffee, and left. I didn't know I had to prove all this to avoid being charged. The establishment charged my card without authorization, then added more charges, saying we'd left the suite in a condition beyond ordinary use. We had a very disappointing stay.

The rooms are unusual bungalow-style spaces, with a living area and a small efficiency kitchen. Breakfast is a nice continental spread at the office building, and getting to the I.U. campus is easy.

There was a lot to like about this quaint, quirky property. The location worked well for us, prices were low, check-in was easy, the staff were friendly, and the outside felt relaxed. They also have a nice free snack and breakfast setup at the office. I really wanted to leave a good review. We brought our oldest son, his wife, and their little girls to stay with us at Century Suites before going to Nashville the next day. We had the big blue house, Room/house 1152. The suite had a noticeable moldy, musty smell as soon as we walked in. The kids and grandkids used the two queen beds upstairs. My wife and I opened the pullout sleeper in the living room, but the mattress was thin, cheap, stained, and filthy. It had a dead bug, crumbs, and little bits of trash on it. We were grossed out and couldn't sleep on it. We called the office hoping they'd make things right. The staff member was polite and apologetic, but said there wasn't a clean mattress to give us. They offered two small cots, which we accepted, then called back to say none were available. When we asked again for a solution, the best they offered was 10% off a second room at full price. We said no. I slept in a chair and my wife slept on the couch cushions. We'll never stay there again.

During a county-wide power outage, Century Suites kept the lights on and essential services running. I could charge my devices and get some rest while everything outside felt dark and uncertain. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and did a lot to make the stay comfortable. I booked a townhouse suite and found it roomy and cozy, with a full kitchen, living area, and separate bedroom. The peaceful, homey atmosphere was a welcome break from the disruption. Some of the amenities felt dated, but the location and hospitality made up for that. Century Suites was a calm little refuge, and I'd recommend it for a comfortable stay, whether during a power outage or on an ordinary trip.
