Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina

The lake view is stunning. We came in the off season, so the place was nearly empty. The rooms are dated, but the price reflects that. Breakfast was only the basics, with nothing hot, so we went to Bob Evans instead.

For what we paid, the room was overpriced. It was so dark that even with the lights on, I needed my flashlight to read and adjust the thermostat. There were spider eggs from floor to ceiling in one corner, and more behind the bathroom trash can. The exhaust fan didn't work, and the refrigerator stayed off until we found a high-up switch near the ceiling. The fitted sheets didn't fit the beds, either. We even found someone else's sock under the little stand by the TV. The room attendants need to do a much better job.

The lake is so dark at night that the moon looks especially bright. It’s peaceful and quiet at Fourwinds right now, and prices are half off. Terrific place, great location, and the best prices. This is a terrific time to stay.

I was there for a conference, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room had an odd smell and cobwebs in the corners, though otherwise it was clean and felt dated. The resort restaurants were closed for the season.
