Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bloomington - MPLS Arpt Area W by IHG

As loyal IHG members, we've stayed here many times and it's consistently pleasant. The hotel is presentable throughout, and the desk and housekeeping staff are always polite, friendly, and willing to help. Rooms are usually very clean, though once we found a piece of chocolate candy left by a previous guest. Breakfast has a good selection, with nearby restaurants if nothing there appeals. The location is great too, with most places only a few minutes away by car or Uber/Lyft.

I'm not even halfway through my stay, but already I have to say how grateful I am for this team. The room is roomy and super clean, and breakfast has a delicious, much bigger spread with more choices than I expected. Best of all, the front desk made me feel welcome and valued when I had some requests related to accommodations. They handled everything without making me feel like I was asking for anything unusual. Housekeeping is extremely friendly too, and I commend their hard work. This is probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm excited to finish my stay. Thanks, Holiday Inn Express W Bloomington. Keep it up. I'm telling people about it and highly recommend staying here!

The free shuttle was right there at 4 a.m. when I needed to get to the airport, and the staff were professional and friendly. The front desk were on top of things, while the cleaning staff did a great job whenever I needed them. The hallways and lobby were clean. I didn't have time to try breakfast, though people seemed to enjoy it in the large dining area. Well managed and within walking distance of shops like Total Wine and Trader Joe's. I'll be back.

Update: They moved us to a new room, and it was very clean and immediately felt like a different hotel. I don't know why the first room was so drastically different. Mack at the front desk was great throughout, but the day staff could use more customer service training. They seemed not to like people and hid a lot. Breakfast was much better on the weekend. The pool was great, and the room WiFi was excellent. October 30, 2025: Mack made check-in easy and gave excellent service. He deserves recognition. Everything else was a huge disappointment, and with four more days to stay, I regretted choosing this hotel. There were scent plug-ins everywhere, which concerned me for several reasons, including their toxicity. The door latch was broken, and no one had fixed it by noon that day. The screw holes were stripped, and the remaining screws were loose and falling out. I could have tried to fix it myself, but didn't want to be charged for that. The hotel looked old and run-down. Every chair was torn or dirty, and one had a staple sticking out that cut me when I tried to move it. The linens were clean, but everything else was dirty. There were several spots in the bathroom that looked like blood, and I was afraid to shower. Breakfast the next morning was also a letdown: the high chairs were caked with dried food. That lack of cleanliness was shocking. There were plenty of food choices and several hot items, but it didn't match the photos in the advertisement. I thought getting a suite would mean a nice room, but I regretted booking here. It wasn't worth the price. I paid just a few dollars less per day than at a well-known, highly rated hotel down the road. I chose this one based on reviews, and still can't understand how it's getting such high ratings. Are those reviewers staying at the same hotel?
